"Tramp for the Lord"

Why do some women continue to go back to their abusers, knowing that they will again be abused? The cycle of abuse stinks. Abusers stink. Needless to say, my heart is broken for some of our former guests. Please pray for their safety.

One of the neat things about where I live is that there are all kinds of books at my disposal. The other day I started reading "Tramp for the Lord" which is about the life of Corrie ten Boom after her realse from a German concentration camp near the end of WWII. She fascinates me for several reason:

~She was put into a concentration camp b/c she and her family were hiding some of their Jewish friends in their home. In a neat way this connects my earthly heritage (My mother's family) with my heavenly heritage in Christ!

~She was never married.

~Her story is that of a real person. She talks about her weakness and struggles. .

~She is an example of how God takes care of His children and uses those tough times to spread His word and to grow us closer to Him.

~She lived her life going where the Lord lead. At times she had no money. At times she new noone in the city she felt led to go to for a given time. At times she didn't know what her next step would be.

~This part of the story takes place in her 50s to her 80s.So, there's no room for excuses for those of in our 20s.
